Case Study
  • Since 2007 we have been working with early stage social enterprises and budding social entrepreneurs to test, refine and grow their ideas into viable social businesses. We incubate new social ventures, from the seed of an idea to start up and growth. We do this by providing a full package of support that includes seed funding, business advice, practical resources and connections to help social entrepreneurs make their ideas a reality.
We manage the Scottish Government’s Social Entrepreneurs Fund and are the start up delivery partner for the Just Enterprise consortium. Since April 2009 we have made over 688 awards and distributed almost £4m across Scotland. We have supported over 3,400 budding social entrepreneurs over the past five years and helped to create two new social enterprises every week. Some of the programmes we deliver include:LaunchMe, Vital Spark and Ditto.
You can find out more about how we help social entrepreneurs across Scotland in our impact report Start Something Good. and where we are going in our strategy document Start Small, Aim High.
We are commited to providing you with the highest level of service. If you have any concerns about Firstport’s services or processes, please refer to our complaints protocol.
