    Promotes Scotland as a place that celebrates entrepreneurship – through videos of international guests at GGS events – widely distributed via Linkedin and other sites with a Global following

    Promotes entrepreneurship as a career option to talent in Scotland – by encouraging women from different career backgrounds to consider startup through their networking and through enterprise and coding workshops 


    They provide access to role models and mentor support – through networking – and now (2016) through a formal networking community – and Mentoring Workshop

    They develop entrepreneurial skills – through enterprise and coding workshops

    Networking – each GGS event has time for networking. The strength of their community is one way they measure success. 

    Increase knowledge on how where and when to access finance – they have recently secured sponsorship from LINC and have access to finance as a theme for 2016 – 2017

    Competitions and Awards – they are running their first Student Competition this year in partnership with Nano-Lit Technologies Ltd – this is a travel bursary for DJCAD students for the female who produces the best lighting design as part of their scheduled modules – they will help  them to visit a heroine or hero of theirs within the design/tech space

    Identifying Opportunities – they partner with as many different organisations within the enterprise space to ensure cross- fertilisation of opportunities that are available across Scotland and send out additional information via our Newsletter


    • Girl Geeks do not get regular funding but depend entirely on funding from public and private enterprise as they plan towards events. As such many of the things they offer are on an adhoc basis.
    • They are constantly making efforts to collaborate with other organisations for mutual benefit.  It is one of the things that GGS prides itself on.
    • Girl Geeks is a volunteer run network. Their partner organisation is Napier University Red Triangle.
